Hybrid line laser module 80 mW BLUE, 12 - 28 VDC, adjustable focus, insulated
80 mW Blue (450 nm) Hybrid Line Laser Module – LLMi-80-450: The most powerful blue module in the LLMi series: 80 mW produces a bright blue laser line for long line lengths and demanding industrial applications where blue needs to stand out clearly from other laser colors.
- Bright blue laser line (450 nm) with 80 mW
- Most powerful blue module in the LLMi series
- Wide voltage input 12–28 VDC – also suitable for 24-V systems
- Isolated and potential-free for multi-module operation
Like all LLMi modules, it combines a laser and a NeoDrive hybrid driver with a wide voltage input in an isolated miniature housing measuring 12 × 55 mm—eliminating the need for external switching power supplies. Thanks to its potential-free design, multiple modules can be operated in parallel; the low heat generation generally eliminates the need for additional cooling. Line width and line position are adjustable, and a 3-lens glass collimator ensures good focusability.
Electrical Connection
Connection to 12–28 VDC power sources is made via the approximately 100 cm long flexible tubing with kink protection and wire end ferrules. The insulated housing is non-conductive.

Line Length and Line Width
The length of the laser line is determined by the line angle selected at the time of purchase. The following angles are available for the LLMi-80-450:
| Angle | Distance | Line length approx. |
|---|---|---|
| 10° | 1 m | 17 cm |
| 20° | 1 m | 0.35 m |
| 30° | 1 m | 0.54 m |
| 35° | 1 m | 0.63 m |
| 45° | 1 m | 0.83 m |
| 60° | 1 m | 1.16 m |
| 70° | 1 m | 1.40 m |
| 90° | 1 m | 2 m |
| 110° | 1 m | 3 m |
| 120° | 1 m | 3.4 m |
The line width (focus) can be adjusted on the module from approximately 0.5 mm to approximately 3 mm—see the video “Adjusting the Line Width” and the enclosed information sheet.

At a distance of 1 m, the following lengths result (12-mm modules):
| Angle | Distance | Line length approx. |
|---|---|---|
| 10° | 1 m | 17 cm |
| 20° | 1 m | 35 cm |
| 30° | 1 m | 54 cm |
| 35° | 1 m | 63 cm |
| 45° | 1 m | 83 cm |
| 60° | 1 m | 116 cm |
| 70° | 1 m | 140 cm |
| 90° | 1 m | 200 cm |
| 110° | 1 m | 300 cm |
The line length increases linearly with distance; at a distance of 2 m, these values double.
Stranded wires (standard) – open red/black wires, approx. 100–200 mm length, for direct connection to microcontrollers or driver boards.
Barrel connector – 5.5 / 2.1 mm standard barrel plug, approx. 200 mm cable, for operation with a 230 VAC plug-in power supply.
Flexible cable with ferrules – approx. 100 cm flexible cable for direct connection to a 12–25 VDC machine controller. Reverse-polarity protection is integrated in the DC variant.
On request we also supply M8 / M12 connectors with custom cable lengths. The DC variant is particularly suited for retrofitting existing machines without 230 V wiring.
Line length: The longer the line, the lower the brightness, as the light output is spread over a larger area
Laser color: Green appears significantly brighter than red or blue
Work surface: The darker and more matte the surface, the darker the light appears
Ambient brightness: The brighter the ambient light, the darker the laser line appears. This is due to the human eye, which reduces its sensitivity depending on the ambient brightness. In direct sunlight, it is very difficult to see a laser line because the retina is already saturated.
Laser power: The higher the laser power, the brighter the laser line
Wavelength in detail: The wavelength determines how visible the line is on your surface. Red (650 nm) is the lowest-cost option and sufficient in moderately lit indoor environments. Light red (635 nm) appears noticeably brighter than 650 nm at the same power. Green (520 / 532 nm) is the most universal choice – the human retina is most sensitive in the green spectral range, so green lines appear roughly 5–7× brighter than red at equal power. Blue (450 nm) delivers high contrast on greenish surfaces, where red and green fade into the background.
