Line Laser module GREEN 40 mW, adjustable focus, insulated
40 mW Green Line Laser Module (515–520 nm) – LLM-40-520: The most powerful single green module in the 520-nm series: 40 mW delivers maximum visibility for industrial applications—from long reference lines to projection in brightly lit halls.
- Highly visible green line (515–520 nm) with approx. 40 mW
- Most powerful green module in the 520-nm single-module series
- Power supply: 3–6 VDC, optionally 12–25 VDC
- Selectable projection angle, adjustable focus
From the MediaLas modular system in a compact 12-mm housing: The user adjusts the focus and line position directly on the module; the optics remain interchangeable at any time—even when installed. Connection options: stranded wires (standard), hollow connectors, or flexible connection cable; optionally available as a 12–25 V version for direct operation with machine controls.

Line Length and Line Width
The length of the laser line is determined by the beam angle selected at the time of purchase. The following angles are available for the LLM-40-520:
| Angle | Distance | Line length approx. |
|---|---|---|
| 5° | 1 m | 8–9 cm |
| 10° | 1 m | 17 cm |
| 20° | 1 m | 0.34 m |
| 35° | 1 m | 0.62 m |
| 60° | 1 m | 1.16 m |
| 90° | 1 m | 2 m |
| 110° | 1 m | 3 m |
| 120° | 1 m | 3.4 m |
The line width (focus) is adjusted directly on the module—see the video "Adjusting the Line Width".
Notes

- For more information on laser safety, click here.
- For continuous operation, the module must be mounted in a heat sink
- Power supply must be stabilized and free of spikes!
Options
- Hollow-pin connector; direct operation via plug-in power supply possible
- M8 / M12 connectors with customer-specific cable lengths
- Glass line optic, finer line, light in the center, tapering toward the ends

At a distance of 1 m, the following lengths result (12-mm modules):
| Angle | Distance | Line length approx. |
|---|---|---|
| 10° | 1 m | 17 cm |
| 20° | 1 m | 35 cm |
| 30° | 1 m | 54 cm |
| 35° | 1 m | 63 cm |
| 45° | 1 m | 83 cm |
| 60° | 1 m | 116 cm |
| 70° | 1 m | 140 cm |
| 90° | 1 m | 200 cm |
| 110° | 1 m | 300 cm |
The line length increases linearly with distance; at a distance of 2 m, these values double.
Stranded wires (standard) – open red/black wires, approx. 100–200 mm length, for direct connection to microcontrollers or driver boards.
Barrel connector – 5.5 / 2.1 mm standard barrel plug, approx. 200 mm cable, for operation with a 230 VAC plug-in power supply.
Flexible cable with ferrules – approx. 100 cm flexible cable for direct connection to a 12–25 VDC machine controller. Reverse-polarity protection is integrated in the DC variant.
On request we also supply M8 / M12 connectors with custom cable lengths. The DC variant is particularly suited for retrofitting existing machines without 230 V wiring.
Line length: The longer the line, the lower the brightness, as the light output is spread over a larger area
Laser color: Green appears significantly brighter than red or blue
Work surface: The darker and more matte the surface, the darker the light appears
Ambient brightness: The brighter the ambient light, the darker the laser line appears. This is due to the human eye, which reduces its sensitivity depending on the ambient brightness. In direct sunlight, it is very difficult to see a laser line because the retina is already saturated.
Laser power: The higher the laser power, the brighter the laser line
Wavelength in detail: The wavelength determines how visible the line is on your surface. Red (650 nm) is the lowest-cost option and sufficient in moderately lit indoor environments. Light red (635 nm) appears noticeably brighter than 650 nm at the same power. Green (520 / 532 nm) is the most universal choice – the human retina is most sensitive in the green spectral range, so green lines appear roughly 5–7× brighter than red at equal power. Blue (450 nm) delivers high contrast on greenish surfaces, where red and green fade into the background.
